artist biography
Anna Kossakowska – Polish visual artist and painter. A graduate of the Faculty of Interior Design at the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw, and previously of the State High School of Fine Arts in Warsaw. In her interdisciplinary practice, she combines easel painting and monumental painting (murals) with spatial forms, installations, and original set designs. The artist’s paintings, both easel works and large-format pieces, are included in numerous private and museum collections in Poland and abroad. For years, her artistic focus has revolved around her fascination with the human eye, its unique anatomy, the mystery of the gaze, and a centered, open composition. These are paintings depicting the structure of the iris and the depth of the pupil—created, among other works, as part of the “Third Eye” series, the Warsaw mural “Galactic Gates,” and miniatures traveling the world. A parallel pillar of her painting is water motifs: from shimmering close-ups of the water’s surface to dreamlike depictions of mermaids. She also develops her sensitivity to color in expressive landscapes and portraits. Her artistic body of work has been presented at numerous solo and group exhibitions in Poland and abroad, including: · 2026 “wOKOło BARW” solo exhibition, MCK, Płońsk · 2024 “EYE & THE SKY,” solo exhibition, Zagreb, Croatia · 2023 “THE DEPTH OF BLUE,” solo exhibition (Night of Museums), Metamorfozy Gallery, Warsaw · 2022 “DELHI ART CARNIVAL,” group exhibition, Visual Art Gallery, New Delhi, India · 2022 “TELEPORTATION 1,” group exhibition, Art House, Absolutearts, India · 2021 “THE THIRD EYE,” solo exhibition, Przechodnia Gallery, Warsaw · 2019 “GALACTIC GARDENS,” solo exhibition, Center for the Promotion of Culture, Warsaw · 2014 “THE BIG EYE,” solo exhibition, Budapest, Hungary · 2013 “MEDITERRANEO,” solo exhibition, Belgrade, Serbia
