artist biography

Agnieszka Metko – painter, colorist, creator of original wings, multicolored prints, and collages. An artist who, through color, form, and symbolism, explores emotions, freedom, transformation, and the power of imagination. Her work is a world of intense colors, bold combinations, and unexpected pairings. In her paintings, color becomes the language of emotion—expressing joy, anxiety, hope, and a sense of wonder at life. Inspiration drawn from nature intertwines with personal reflections on humanity and the world around us. Agnieszka also creates multicolored prints and collages in which diverse shapes, textures, and colors come together in expressive compositions. She freely experiments with form and material, developing her own distinctive artistic language. Her works catch the eye, stimulate the imagination, and leave room for individual interpretations. Wings—the artist’s signature motif A special place in Agnieszka Metko’s body of work is held by her original project “Infinity of Wings”—a series of colorful, three-dimensional reliefs in which painting meets sculpture and experimentation with materials. Each pair of wings tells a separate story, is a unique composition, and invites viewers to discover their own meanings. Color, texture, and form give them their individual character, while the symbol of wings opens up a space for dreams, courage, and freedom. Agnieszka Metko’s wings are more than just art objects—they are a symbol of possibility, of transcending limitations, and of finding one’s own path. They are sometimes used as set pieces for cultural events, and their unique character allows them to function both as works of art and as expressive spatial forms. The artist’s works, including her wings, have found their way into the collections of figures from the worlds of culture and music, including Katarzyna Dowbor, Piotr Foreman-Forys, and Jack White. One sensibility—many art forms Painting, printmaking, collage, and spatial wings form a cohesive artistic world, with color as their common thread. Vivid, bold, and full of emotion—it not only adorns but also tells stories, sets the mood, and invites reflection.
